The marla to square feet formula
The conversion is fixed:
Square Feet = Marla × 272.25
In the standard revenue system, marla is defined as 1/160 of an acre = 43,560 ÷ 160 = 272.25 square feet, and 20 marla make one kanal. This is why a "5 marla plot" = 1,361.25 sq ft and a "10 marla plot" = 2,722.5 sq ft — the two most popular residential plot sizes in Punjab and Haryana.
